Robert E. Hunley II, Prosecutor
Bob became prosecutor in January of 2009 after being elected by a Democrat Caucus. Prior to taking office, he served as Sullivan County’s Chief Deputy for 10 years. Bob’s prosecutorial career started in 1995. Over the years Bob has handled thousands of cases from traffic infractions all the way up to Murder. He currently handles most major felonies which come through the office. Bob also oversees all misdemeanor, juvenile, and infraction cases filed in Sullivan County.
Bob attended Indiana University where he earned his B.A. in 1991. He also attended Cumberland School of Law at Samford University where he received his J.D. in 1994.
Born and raised in Dugger, Bob is a graduate of Union High School and a lifelong resident of Sullivan County. He currently lives with his wife, Dana Winklepleck Hunley, and his daughter just north of Sullivan.

John R. Springer, Chief Deputy Prosecutor
John was admitted to the bar in 2000 after attending Hanover College where he received his B.A. in 1993, and attending law school at Southern Illinois University, where he received his J.D in 1999. John was in private practice in Sullivan, IN from 2000 to 2007 and was the attorney for Sullivan County from 2004 to 2007. His experience in the criminal justice system includes time spent in Vigo County as a Deputy Prosecutor assigned to Division 3 Court (handling major felonies) from 2007 to mid-2008. John’s first experience with the Sullivan County Prosecutor’s Office was a summer long internship for law school back in 1999. He was first employed by this office in May of 2008 as a part-time Deputy and he assumed the full time Chief Deputy position as of January 1st, 2009.

Brent Stringer, Deputy Prosecutor
Brent Stringer was born and raised in Sullivan County. He is a graduate of Indiana State University, earning a B.S. in Criminology and History and completed the University Honors Program. He graduated from Claude W. Pettit College of Law at Ohio Northern University in 2003. In March 2004, he joined the Knox County Prosecutor’s Office as a Deputy Prosecutor. In January 2009, he joined the Sullivan County Prosecutor’s Office as a Deputy Prosecutor and as the prosecutor for the Title IV-D Child Support Enforcement Division.

Katie Springer, born Sullivan, Indiana, September 28, 1972; admitted to bar, 1998, Indiana; also admitted to practice before U.S. District Court, Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. Preparatory education, DePauw University (B.A., magna cum laude, 1995); Indiana State University (Doctorate of Psychology, 2004); legal education, Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis (J.D. cum laude, 1998), Clinical Psychologist, Registered Family Law Mediator, Deputy Prosecutor, Sullivan County, Indiana, 1999-, Member: Sullivan County (President) and Indiana State Bar Associations. Juvenile Prosecutor since 1999.
